Devices For Network Connectivity

3G/4G

3G is the third generation of wireless mobile devices, whereas 4G is forth generation and is faster than 3G. Although 4G has not yet been introduced to some countries and they continue to use 3G. At 3G’s top speed it is around 2mbps, whereas 4G can reach speeds of up to 10mbps making it a lot faster. 4G is more reliable as you can get the same speed with only one bar of signal that 3G would get with a full signal, although all smart phones are capable of receiving a 3G signal only a few phones are able to get 4G.

Wireless

Wireless network is a computer network which does not require the use of wires to connect to the network. Radio or micro waves are used to connect the computer to the network instead of wires. Wireless networks have the advantage of being able to connect laptops, computers and other devices to the internet without the use of wires; this enables people to use their internet around the house or business as you do not have to have the device plugged into the internet connection.

Bluetooth

Bluetooth allows users to transfer data over short distances to other devices. Bluetooth uses radio waves to exchange data over short distances to another bluetooth enables device, as long as the Bluetooth on both devices are turned on and are discoverable.

NIC

Network Interface Card or NIC for short, is a piece of computer hardware that connects a computer to a computer network. The NIC allows people to connect their computers and portable computer devices to the local area network (LAN). Within a home the NIC is normally found in the modem which connects to LAN via a dial up connection.
